Orthopedic Surgeon, Shoulder, Elbow and Wrist Surgery
Dr. Gay is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in disorders of the shoulder, elbow, and wrist. He is an honors graduate of Appalachian State University. His medical training was completed at the University of South Carolina and his residency training at the University of Florida – Jacksonville. He received his fellowship training at the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery/Cornell University in hand and upper extremity. He completed a second international fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Melbourne Shoulder and Elbow Centre in Australia. Dr. Gay has a particular interest in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and computer-assisted and GPS shoulder replacement surgery.x
Orthopedic Surgeon, Hip and Knee Surgery
Dr. Jeffrey Keen is a board-certified fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee surgery. Dr. Keen graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. Following residency, He then completed fellowship at the prestigious Insall Scott Kelly Institute in New York City.
Dr. Keen is a complete knee surgeon specializing in all aspects of knee surgery. He performs robotic-assisted total and partial knee replacements. He also performs a high volume of arthroscopic knee procedures for sports injuries, including ligament reconstruction, and has a special interest in cartilage injuries to the knee. When caring for the hip, he performs computer-assisted hip replacements. He uses cutting edge procedures to care for his patients including minimally invasive surgery and anterior hip replacements. Dr. Keen provides the most comprehensive care for his patients to help them reach their goals. His practice philosophy focuses on customized care – matching each patient’s diagnosis to their needs and surgical expectations.x
Orthopedic Surgeon, Foot and Ankle Surgery, and Orthopedic Trauma
Dr. Rosenbaum is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle reconstruction, ankle replacements, lower extremity fracture care, cartilage restoration and sports medicine.
Following completion of medical school, Dr. Rosenbaum completed a five-year orthopedic residency at the University of Florida including one year spent at the Mayo Clinic. A significant portion of this training was dedicated towards the treatment of trauma and fractures. After residency he spent an additional year of training by completing a subspecialty fellowship in orthopedic foot and ankle surgery and reconstruction at the University of Texas in Houston.
His areas of specialty include orthopedic fracture care with a special interest in hip and lower extremity fractures. Other areas of interest include complex ankle fractures, ankle arthroscopic surgery (minimally invasive), total ankle replacements, complex reconstructive ankle/foot surgery, deformity correction, limb salvage procedures, amputation revisions, tendon transfer/foot drop, foot fusions and treatment of Achilles tendonitis/ ruptures, sports related injuries, foot and ankle arthritis, flat feet, and bunions.x
Orthopedic Surgeon, Hand, Wrist and Upper Extremity Surgery
Dr. Scott Putney specializes in surgery of the hand and upper extremities as well as microvascular surgery. He earned his medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville. He then went on to a fellowship program in hand surgery at the Christine Kleinert Institute at the University of Louisville in Kentucky.
Dr. Putney and his staff treat patients with diseases and injuries to the hand and upper extremities including the elbow, forearm, wrist and hand. He feels strongly that treatment should be individualized to the patient and that many common conditions can be managed without surgery. Shared decision making among the surgeon, family, and patient is always employed to make sure that the treatment plan is customized to each person’s goals. If surgery is pursued, Dr. Putney is highly experienced in current operative techniques including arthroscopy, upper extremity joint replacement, fracture fixation, minimally invasive surgery, and microsurgery. In some instances, this can be done under local anesthesia (numbing medicine) only in an office setting. This allows for minimal down time, patient convenience, and cost-effective care. He welcomes second opinions and complex problems as well as everyday upper extremity complaints and traumatic injuries.
Dr. Putney grew up in Richmond, VA. He is a graduate of Washington and Lee University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three young daughters, playing golf and watching sports. He is board certified in both orthopedic surgery as well as hand surgery, an additional qualification with rigorous ongoing standards to ensure that you are getting the highest quality care.x
Taylor Voyles is a Certified Physician Assistant working in orthopedic surgery. She has 2 years of experience in orthopedic surgery with an additional year of training in general medicine. She is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University’s Physician Assistant program where she served as President of her class and President of the College of Healthcare Sciences Regional Campuses. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and a Fellow of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants serving as on a leadership committee for the latter organization.
In her years of undergraduate education, she spear headed a campaign raising more than $20,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. She also worked to raise $5,000 and bring attention to breast cancer awareness and research after having her own tumor removed. Her passion for community work and philanthropy has remained constant over her years of training and education. She remains heavily involved in multiple volunteer organizations in both her local and home communities.x
A native of St. Augustine, Jed attended the University of Florida College of Medicine where he attained both his undergraduate and master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies. After several years working in the Greater Tampa Bay Area, Jed returned home where he is excited to have the opportunity to care for his neighbors and help them overcome their orthopedic injuries.x
Jason Blackmer, PA-C originally grew up in Michigan where he received his undergraduate bachelor’s in biomedical science from Western Michigan University. He also obtained dual minor degrees in chemistry and music. During that time he was working as a certified pharmacy technician and nurse assistant further fueling his love of patient care.
After obtaining his undergraduates degree and spending time in different healthcare fields, he was accepted into an accelerated Master of Physician Assistant Studies program in Manchester, New Hampshire. During his time in PA school, Jason developed a passion for surgery, and completed two general surgery rotations at Rhode Island Hospital. After graduating from PA school, Jason moved to North East Florida with his wife where he began his career in Orthopedics. He has been working for Jeffrey Keen MD for three years specializing in hip and knee replacements.x
